Eyes Closed Presence
Full color Dharma Wheel artist's print
Available framed or unframed
There is the question of the sound made by a Dharma Wheel -- even if that sound is silence. If one believes that a mindful practitioner would be able to feel the presence of a wheel, while sitting in a dark room, with eyes closed, in the lotus position, then the question of how the wheel's presence would be felt is reasonable.
To be sure, the experience would appear extra-sensory. That said, one should expect that the daily practice of mindfulness will result in an enhanced connection to oneself, and to the surrounding world, that would make special provision for hearing what others may miss. Given the fact that the Dharma Wheel is an icon, all those with eyes can see the wheel. However, I am intrigued by the possibility that a simple wheel might project a kind of silence that can be heard and understood, especially in the dark.
