Zen Quaker Friend

Full color Dharma Wheel artist's print

Inspiration

I am a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded by the Quakers in 1675, the spiritual foundation of my hometown shares the fundamental Buddhist beliefs of non-violence, quiet contemplation, simplicity and reserve. Quaker values still provide a foundation for the region’s culture that is palpable.

Among the superficial differences between these two spiritual traditions are the ornaments. The Quakers have few that exist beyond the completely pragmatic. Wood, where used for any reason, is natural. Paint, where used, white.

Buddhist ornaments are, generally, brightly colored with gold used as a beautiful accent. This wheel, is simple, both in design and color.

A peaceful child perhaps?

If you need your order sent to you by a specific date, please let me know and I will do everything possible to accommodate your need. If the order queue becomes substantial, I will let you know. My goal is to have your order delivered - in your hands - within seven business days. I hope you will find this satisfactory.
