Sandstone Orange Tactile
Full color Dharma Wheel artist's print
Available framed or unframed
Imagine a beach covered with millions of stones and pebbles that have been rounded and smoothed by years of being washed together. If one closes one's eyes and barely waves one's palm along the tops of the pebbles, moving them so they crackle, snap and improvise, one can literally feel the earth move. Closer to the water, mud, sand and muck that coat the rocks begin to cover one's hands and, with the passing of enough time, begins to dry on the skin. It feels wonderful, then, to take one's hand and rub it in a circle on a bright white sheet of paper. A texture is left behind that can't be drawn.
Imagine a wheel - this wheel - with a texture that is painted and somehow moves like the rocks on a beach described above. Painted, sanded, carved and painted again -- many times over -- the wheel begins to capture light and shadow in a way that can only come from the passing of time and natural energy, like the rocks on a beach.
