Intuitive Contrast Method
Full color Dharma Wheel artist's print
Available framed or unframed
Often, it is impossible not to see the sun when looking at a Dharma Wheel. For me, this is the case with Intuitive Contrast Method. An intuitive watercolor technique was used to begin the wheel with a traditional deep orange color being used for the wheel and a yellow-orange color used for the negative space between the spokes.
I was pleased with the initial product but felt that something was missing. During the time I was creating the wheel, I was reading a great deal about the artist Henri Matisse, with an emphasis on the end of his career when he was mostly creating simple paper cutouts.
The sunburst seen on this wheel is a homage.
